Mission Statement

Identity House is a counseling services non-profit organization. The purpose of Identity House is to create an all volunteer community in which to provide services for the support and encouragement of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other adults who are struggling with issues of sexuality, alienation, relationship and family.
The membership shall consist of individuals who have themselves confronted these issues of personal identity. They shall be peer counselors offering counseling and therapy referrals; group leaders of discussion groups, workshops and short term groups; therapists offering support and training; and administrative members offering non clinical support services.Identity House is dedicated to helping people discover their worth and value and to furthering the personal growth of all. Furthermore, Identity House shall be a positive force for changing homophobic attitudes in the larger community by doing clinical work, interacting and working with other gay and non-gay organizations, expanding and diversifying our membership to reflect our multi-cultural society, sponsoring public events, speaking at schools and universities, writing articles for publication.
